Setikhola hydropower project begins power production

With the completion of the project development, the Setikhola Hydropower Project in Parbat district has started power generation. The project with the capacity of 3.5 megawatt has also started its test transmission, completing the entire development works in five years. The canal headwork of the project is at Beulibas of Paiyun Rural Municipality-2 while the powerhouse is at Ghangre of Bihadi Rural Municipality-6. Water has been supplied to Ghangre through a 3,600 metres long pipeline from Beulibas. China’s Asia Pacific Project carried out the electromechanical job of the project while K and K Builders from Biratnagar performed the pipeline works.

Jogmai Cascade Hydroelectric Project (5.2 MW)

Jogmai Cascade HEP is a cascade RoR type of scheme located just d/s of Jogmai khola small Hydroelectric Project-7.6 MW in Maijogmai rural municipality-3, Illam district of Nepal. The entire project component lies on right bank of Jogmai Khola within Maijogmai Rural Municipality. SEL has obtained survey license for Jogmai Cascade Hydropower Project in 2014 A.D. The feasibility study on the project was completed in 2018 A.D. Likewise; the initial Environmental Examination (IEE) Report on the project has been prepared. Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) concluded with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on 2075/5/7 with installed capacity of 6 MW but its amendment letter has been received in 2075/01/27 for revised installed capacity of 5.2 MW.
